Wood McDonald joined Lewis & Ellis in July 2007, as a consulting actuary in the Kansas City Office. He has over 35 years experience as a consulting actuary and health insurance company executive. His areas of expertise include extensive strategic, managerial, and technical group insurance and healthcare, including product development and new and renewal pricing of all managed care products; financial projections and forecasting; new product actuarial certifications; provider reimbursement analysis and education; utilization and cost benchmarking; reserve analysis; and insurance company financial examinations performed by state insurance departments. Prior to joining Lewis & Ellis, Wood was a consulting actuary on his own for 10 years. Prior to that he was a consulting actuary with Towers Perrin for 12 years, where his responsibilities included serving as Managing Principal of the Kansas City Tillinghast Division. Before that he was with Business Men's Assurance Company for close to 15 years, where his responsibilities included serving as Vice President of Group Marketing. Wood and his wife love to travel, as well as spend time with their six children and five grandchildren.
