Dave Palmer had been regulating insurance companies for over twenty years before joining Lewis & Ellis in 2010. He is well versed in statutory accounting requirements for both Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance companies. Having been both a Chief Financial Examiner and a Chief Financial Analyst, he understands the challenges that Chief Financial Regulators face every day of their career. He also understands the need of efficient regulation for industry. Among his areas of expertise include merger and acquisitions, troubled companies, Form A and D filings, and risk focus examinations. In addition, during his tenure with the Maryland Insurance Administration and the District of Columbia Department of Insurance Securities and Banking, Dave has advised Insurance Commissioners on material financial transactions. His knowledge of the workings of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners as it relates to accreditation manners is a useful resource for L&E clients. He enjoys watching sports and spending time with his family.
