Associate Actuary
Consulting Actuary, Portland, Oregon

Kirsten joined the Dallas office of Lewis & Ellis in June 2020. As a member of the health team, Kirsten works on rate development, rate review, market conduct exams, group pricing and a myriad of other activities on behalf of her clients, which include state regulators, employer groups, public entities, and others. Prior to joining Lewis & Ellis in June 2020, Kirsten spent ten years as an actuarial manager at Moda Health, a regional health insurance carrier headquartered in Portland, OR. During her tenure at Moda, Kirsten had the opportunity to build expertise in forecasting and reserving, trend analysis, mid and large group pricing, rate manual development, stop loss coverage, underwriting strategy and all things dental. She served on many committees within Moda, providing an actuarial perspective on the potential cost impact of state benefit mandates, product and geographic expansion opportunities, provider contracting changes, cost containment efforts and most recently of COVID-19. Kirsten lives in Portland with her 6-year old son Will. On the weekends you will find them hiking, swimming, camping, road-tripping and doing pretty much anything else that takes them out into Oregon's beautiful countryside.
