Somil Jain is a P&C actuary with over 20 years of experience, including both personal and commercial lines of insurance. His range of actuarial work includes pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, catastrophe modeling and new product development. He has launched several new products and expanded profitably into new states. He has also helped InsurTech startups build some of their first actuarial models.
Somil’s experience goes beyond traditional actuarial work, in particular, he has extensive experience in the field of marketing analytics for direct-to-consumer insurance products. He has created industry-leading attribution models and optimized several digital consumer marketing and lead generation sources. His work also included budgeting, financial modeling and forecasting.
Somil tutors Finance course for Wharton’s Executive MBA students. He is an active member of the CAS Leadership Development Committee and has delivered multiple presentations at CAS events. Outside of work, Somil enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is also an avid gardener.
