Allen, Texas. (Jan. 16, 2015) -- For yet another year, Lewis & Ellis was hailed by Best's Review Magazine as being one of the best actuarial firms in the U.S. and Canada across three different categories, showing just how strong and diverse the company's reach in the field is growing.
Lewis & Ellis earned its highest actuarial ranking in the life insurance field, where it ranked second with an industry-leading client count of 33 and client reserves totaling nearly $6.5 billion. This figure accounted for more than 12.1 percent of the total market, and showed improvement from last year's third-place ranking and 11 percent market share.
The company ranked fourth among health actuarial firms, slightly down from last year's secondplace ranking, but still accounting for more than 13 percent of the total health insurance industry with respect to client reserves and count.
Finally, Lewis & Ellis continued to move up the rankings for property and casualty actuarial firms, jumping to 18th last year from the 23rd recorded in 2013. This improvement came as no surprise, since the company expanded its client base by nearly 28 percent and loss reserves grew by nearly 80% in one year.
This year, the A.M. Best study examined a total of 174 actuarial firms that provided data to nearly 1,700 insurers in the U.S. and Canada. "Once again, A.M.
