As a Consulting Actuary and L&E Vice President, Tim brings over 23 years of diverse actuarial consulting experience. Tim has been with L&E his entire career with a focus on the financial operation of insurance companies, life and annuity product designs and programs and experience studies, including mortality experience. Tim has served as Appointed Actuary for a number of client companies. His well-rounded knowledge of the life insurance industry has enabled him to develop expertise in building and applying actuarial models.Over the past several years, Tim has focused on life settlement issues and modeling of fund risks and risk mitigation strategies. Tim has worked with multiple investment banks, rating agencies, private and institutional investors, life settlement funds, tracking firms and life settlement underwriting companies. The range of services provided to these entities has included pricing, valuation, risk assessment, modeling of tax structures, mortality studies and more. Recently, Tim spent two years in our London office to provide off-shore expertise to institutional investors in the Life Settlement market.Tim, a former University of Kansas golfer and bowler, enjoys golf, basketball and spending time with his family.

CurrentServes as Chair of the American Academy of Actuaries’ Life Settlements Practice Note Committee.  The Practice Note is intended to provide Actuaries with additional information on how to address issues related to the life settlement market.10/2017 Spoke on “After the Sale: What does it take to maintain a policy?” at the Life Insurance Settlement Association’s 23rd Annual Fall Life Settlement and Compliance Conference in Clearwater, Florida04/2014 Spoke on “Life Settlement Mortality: Impact of Actuarial Standard of Practice No. 48” at the Life Insurance Settlement Association’s 20th Annual Spring Life Settlement Conference in Washington D.C.2012-2014 Served as Chair of the Actuarial Standards Board's Life Settlements Mortality Task Force.  This committee created a new Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOP No. 48) for Actuaries regarding mortality assumptions and Actual-to-Expected Studies in the life settlement market.09/2012 Spoke on "Life Expectancies:  Portfolio Managers and Advisors Talk about the Results" at The Life Settlements Conference 2012 in Las Vegas sponsored by Deal Flow Media.06/2012 Spoke with Financier Worldwide about the outlook for life settlement funds for their 10 Questions column.08/2010 Appointed to the newly formed American Academy of Actuaries' Life Settlements Investment Work Group along with Roger Annin and Scott Morrow of our London & Kansas City offices.
