Austin J. Swanson has been with Griffith, Ballard and Company (GBC) since 2019, specializing in life insurance. At GBC, Austin’s consulting work has included serving as an Appointed Actuary, performing asset adequacy testing, illustration testing, valuation and financial reporting, experience studies, and operational analysis. Prior to joining GBC, Austin worked for Athene in West Des Moines, where he focused on annuity rate setting, experience studies, pension risk transfers, and internal audits. Austin holds degrees in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of Iowa. Austin and his wife are both natives of the Cedar Rapids metro area, and have two children.
