With over a decade of actuarial experience, Austin brings deep expertise in Medicare strategy and bid development. He advises Medicare Advantage plans on benefit design, bid positioning, and growth initiatives. He also supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) bid review process for Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans.
Austin develops and presents monthly reserve estimates, clearly communicating key drivers of performance and delivering actionable insights to clients and leadership. In addition, he conducts rate reviews for multiple state entities on various products including, Medicare Supplement, Dental, and Affordable Care Act (ACA) filings, evaluating experience, trends, assumptions, and proposed rate actions.
In the Value-Based Care space, Austin advises clients on strategy, program implementation, and contracting. He serves as actuarial lead for value-based care arrangements, including evaluation of ACO performance and shared savings structures for Commercial and Medicare Advantage populations.
