Before joining Lewis & Ellis in 2026, Brad was Vice President and partner with Griffith, Ballard & Company, an actuarial consulting firm specializing in serving the actuarial needs of life insurance companies and fraternal benefit societies. Brad worked with GBC since 1995, assuming an ownership role in 2010.
In his role as his clients’ Appointed Actuary and Illustration Actuary, Brad provides Directors and Senior Management regulatory support and counsel related to operations analysis, valuation, solvency, financial reporting, product development/marketing and overall corporate strategy.
Brad meets his clients’ project and solution needs through his deep understanding of actuarial principles, critical thinking skills honed over 30 years in the life insurance and annuity industry, and his focus on listening and being available to the people whom he serves.
Brad’s areas of practice include statutory valuation, financial statement assembly, cash flow forecasting, actuarial operations analysis, management reporting, life and annuity product pricing and development, experience studies, merger and acquisition work, and administrative system conversion.
Brad resides in Cedar Rapids, with his wife (Tricia, a trial attorney specializing in health care issues), three wonderful children, and three mischievous beagles. Brad is passionate about his Catholic faith, serving in various capacities at his parish. His interests include playing golf and tennis, visiting art museums, and attending the many varied sporting/extracurricular activities of his kids.
Education
Brad holds Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and English from Dartmouth College, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing.
