Kimberly Shores, FSA, MAAA is a Vice President in the Kansas City office. She has over 18 years of insurance experience, with a primary focus on health. Kim returned to consulting in 2014 where she has done extensive work for several different state insurance departments reviewing ACA and pre-ACA rate filings. Kim has also works extensively with Medicaid MCO clients providing various actuarial services including reserving and analysis of rates, claims and provider contracts. In addition, Kim does pricing, reserving, risk analysis and serves as the appointed actuary for multiple clients.Prior to rejoining L&E she was Director, Actuarial Services for Coventry Health Care and a portion of her responsibilities included commercial group and individual medical pricing, rate filings, rate adequacy and reserving. This experience allowed Kim to interact with many different departments within a health insurance company. Therefore, she is not only able to communicate technical subjects to a non-technical audience, Kim understands the business aspects of health insurance.Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons and cheering on the Chiefs and Royals.
