Mike joined Lewis & Ellis in 1999 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President for L&E. Mike assists numerous life insurance and annuity clients in their statutory, GAAP and tax financial reporting needs. In addition, he assists insurance clients in reviewing financial reinsurance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, reviewing surplus management strategies, including the use of special purpose financial captives, life insurance and annuity product development, illustration actuary requirements and experience studies.Mike assists numerous state insurance departments in the actuarial examinations of insurance companies.  He provides actuarial consulting services to state insurance departments in reviewing the financial risks related to securitization of reserves and other financial reinsurance transactions.Mike is involved in the affairs of his profession and the life insurance industry by being an active speaker regarding current topics in life insurance and financial reporting issues.Prior to joining Lewis & Ellis, Mike was a consulting actuary for Milliman, primarily performing acquisitions and merger services to clients.

Education

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas.
